COACHING PERSONALITY
Posted on December 29th, 2008 No commentsCoaching Personality
I recently read an excerpt from a book Coaching the Dutch 4-3-3 that is put out by World Class Coaching. In this article, there was a particularly compelling section on coaching personality. I must say that the author makes a very good point.
Here is the excerpt:
A coach needs to express themselves as they are coaching. This shows the players that. . . [more] -
WHY PLAY ODP?
Posted on December 26th, 2008 No commentsOver the past several years, it has been my privilege, and challenge, to work with the ODP program in many different capacities. U20’s Win World Cup!
Posted on December 11th, 2008 No commentsIn case you haven’t been watching, our U20 National Team won the Youth World Cup. What an accomplishment for head coach Tony DiCicco and his staff. Mentoring Coaches
Posted on December 5th, 2008 2 commentsI had an experience a few years back that had a lasting impact on my thoughts on coaching education.
I was working with my daughter’s youth team, and I had another parent volunteer to work along with me with the group. She was interested in taking a team by herself, but felt that she did not have the experience to do so. I approached this. . . [more] -
FUTSAL… Great Off Season Training
Posted on December 1st, 2008 3 commentsTwo years ago, I enjoyed the opportunity to take a Regional ODP team to Brazil. While there, we were able to enjoy the game of FUTSAL… which is basically indoor soccer on a basketball court sized field.

Principles of attacking in small groups
Posted on November 7th, 2008 No comments1 vs. 1 inside of the grid.

The ball must be played in to the field player to start the game.
Whenever the ball is played to a target player, that target comes on to the field with the ball. The field player. . . [more]
